More of Maine

Maine had a lot to offer. We were only there about three days. We would have readily doubled our days there. These photos were taken in Edgecomb.

This was the view from our little cottage.

The photo above is from the same dock as the photo preceding it.

The photo above is another from our little cottage. This was taken early, early morning on a quite foggy day. And to give you an idea of the weather, this was taken after quite a bit of the fog let up. In the distance was a bridge and several boats. You can see the shadow and weight of where the bridge would be.

Basking in Blue

Blue MountainsMy throat’s sore. I’m exhausted. And I dealt with too many perturbed people today, but everyone loves looking at mountains.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

June was Vivid

As promised, here are a few more of my favourite shots from the Vivid Sydney light festival last month!

Vivid Sydney

The festival took place along the shorelines of the city. It was a beautiful night filled with lights that are becoming quite famous here. Learn more here (http://www.vividsydney.com/).

Vivid Sydney

The buildings, structures and sculptures along the Sydney Harbour waterfront were lit to please. And they did.

Fortunately for you, you know someone who lives here and would LOVE to show you some of the photos she took!

Vivid Sydney

Nothing short of spectacular.

Thinking outside the box/city

A colleague of mine jokingly asked the other day if I’d mind taking photos of my photography that is currently on display in an exhibition down the street from our office. I looked at him, smiled and laughed.

In retrospect, I thought my family, friends, fans and followers outside of Sydney might enjoy a peak at what is up in that gallery right now.

Here’s the scoop

So here’s the scoop on my next art gallery exhibition–

Gallery Café on Devonshire St in Surry Hills, Sydney. It doubles as a gallery and café, yes, and is capable of one of the best soy coffees around. Great food menu too.

Open 7am – 4pm Monday through Friday. It’s a 2 minute walk from Central.

My Vines Are Better Than Yours

Actually these aren’t my vines at all. This image is part of the study I did recently on walls. Read more about “Walls of Our Own Making”. These vines line a cement wall alongside a neighbour’s home. There’s no doubt that the vines bring some beauty to the drab.

From Camera to Canvas

Welcome to the newest art in my home!

Initially these five canvases were going to be a gift for my other half, but after seeing how they were coming out and knowing that any feasible holiday was still months away… I caved and surprised him. In no time, they were up in our living room. They fit in perfectly.

What you’re looking at are five small panel style canvases. Each canvas started as an original photo I took sometime in the last year. I wanted to make something very “us” and I definitely achieved that.

I love the aged, distressed look. The black, white and grey tones fit into the decor of our living room simply and easily.

From camera to canvas–from my home to yours! If you like what you see, by all means let me know. I’d love to make you something similar. I’ve been experimenting with transfers quite a bit lately and have a few more, larger, pieces in the works.
